A Cinematic Weekend of Elegance at Villa Serbelloni, Lake Como

There are places that feel like they belong to another time—where luxury isn’t loud, but timeless. The Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni, nestled in the heart of Bellagio on the shores of Lake Como, is exactly that. Visiting in March, when the lake was quiet and the air still crisp, made the experience feel all the more private, elegant, and cinematic.

A View That Defines Italian Romance

Arriving at Villa Serbelloni feels like stepping onto a movie set. The 19th-century palace stands proudly at the edge of the water, its elegant façade mirrored by the stillness of the lake. Inside, you’re greeted by grand chandeliers, rich fabrics, and palatial interiors that blend classic Italian elegance with discreet luxury.

Our room overlooked both the lake and pool area, offering a breathtaking view from sunrise to sunset. The entire property exudes a sense of opulence without excess—every detail, from the gilded mirrors to the marble floors, whispers of a refined past.

A Culinary Journey Across the Hotel’s Restaurants

Food is a highlight at Villa Serbelloni. Breakfast is served in a grand ballroom, laid out in an elevated buffet style with high-quality selections and impeccable presentation.

For lunch, we dined at La Goletta, the hotel’s more casual poolside restaurant. Their homemade carbonara was unforgettable—rich, perfectly balanced, and deeply comforting.

But it was dinner at the Michelin-starred Mistral Restaurant that truly showcased the culinary artistry of the hotel. The tasting menu was a symphony of flavor and presentation, worthy of its setting and reputation.

An unexpected surprise was the gin & tonic experience at the bar—where we explored different botanicals, fragrances, and garnishes accompanied by a delicate aperitif. It added a playful, sensory twist to the evening.

Moments That Stay With You

The service at Villa Serbelloni was faultless—attentive, discreet, and personalized. Whether it was the careful explanation of each dish or the way staff remembered our preferences, every interaction felt intentional.

Despite the rain, a private one-hour boat tour around Lake Como on a classic wooden boat was magical. The mist, the dramatic skies, and the stillness of the water made it feel like we were part of a dream sequence.

Villa La Cassinella

One of the most iconic mansions of Lake Como, and unquestionably one of the world's finest and most exclusive retreats.

We ended the day with a couples massage, the perfect blend of relaxation and indulgence, leaving us in a state of total calm.

Who It’s For

Villa Serbelloni is ideal for those seeking a peaceful, refined luxury escape. Whether you’re a couple looking for romance, a foodie with a taste for elegance, or a traveler in search of beauty and stillness—it delivers an experience that lingers long after you leave.
